Fund Raiser for HHH - Classic Movie Screening - It's A Wonderful Life

It's A Wonderful Life Quad Cities:A new family tradition coming to the Quad Cities in December 10/24/20114

It's an old classic with a new twist.

Families from all over the Quad Cities will gather on December 18, 2011 to watch the original black & white version of It's A Wonderful Life on the big screen at the Galvin Fine Arts Center at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. And it's all for a good cause! 100% of the proceeds from this event will go to the Helping Hannah's Heart Foundation which is a local non-profit established to help children with congenital heart defects.

Before the movie there will be a special appearance by Santa Claus and a Christmas carol sing-along led by a vocal quartet and piano accompanist with lyrics on the big screen so the crowd can join in.

Tickets are $10/adult and $5/child ages 3-12 (kids under 3 are free on an adult's lap). Tickets can be purchased at www.ItsAWonderfulLifeQuadCities.com or at the door on December 18th.

Doors open at 12:30pm and the show begins at 1:00pm. Seating is limited and tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis.

Oliver Built Group PINK HELMET AUCTION - to help pay medical bills

Well - I finally unearthed the last of the helmets that were supposed to be auctioned off at the FIRST Vintage Torque Fest.

yeah - yeah - I know...organization is not my strong suit....

This was a very popular one and the work that went into it was crazy.

Lace work - striping - super nice. ALAN McWILLIAMS did the lace and base paint.

DEN OLIVER did the pinstriping and Oliver Group did the super cool bag that comes with this amazing piece.

Thanks to all involved and hope that you will want to bid to help out with some medical bills.

Hannah turns 5 today! Thanks for everyone's support!!

I'm extremely grateful today.

I was awoken by our special Birthday girl early this morning. With a huge smile on her face as she jumped into bed with us.I said, "Good Morning Birthday Girl!" She replied that she didn't think her legs grew enough to look like a 5 year old and was hoping that she would be much better at kung-fu now that she is older!When I reminisce about the day of her birth, I can't help but give thanks to God for our miracle girl. Looking at how strong and energetic she is I remember upon her birth, waiting as she is having to be checked and monitored and then taken to surgery and wondering what life would be like.Would there be a first birthday or second, and here we are at 5 years old and ready to start Kindergarten in 2 weeks. What a blessing this precious girl is to us and all that know her.

I am thankful to Brigham and Women's Hospital for the care they gave me 5 years ago and Boston Children's Hospital. All these amazingly talented people who dedicate their lives to serving others and truly making the world a better place.... Giving parents the chance to know their children.

Thanks to all the people who have supported us over the years.

There are still challenges ahead and we hope you will want to still be a part of our journey.

We are forever grateful!

Future Heart Replacement? The future with no pulse....

When Hannah was born the doctors told us - "if this same medical condition had happened to your first daughter (born 5 years earlier).......she would not have made it."

Pretty amazing technological advancements have been happening in recent years..........

who knows if this one will gain any traction, but it is truly amazing what is going on.

Future of Torque Fest.......

Vintage Torque Fest hopes to come to Maquoketa again in 2012. However, there are other offers on the table that must be considered. Vintage Torque Fest will be making the final decision within two weeks. Vintage Torque Fest and Helping Hannah's Heart Foundation want to thank everyone for the support and kind words received over the past month. We know that Vintage Torque Fest will be a fun filled event for auto enthusiasts and general public for years to come, but have to consider the best options available that will help benefit Helping Hannah's Heart Foundation. The ultimate goal of Vintage Torque Fest is to fund this foundation, in order to help families in Eastern Iowa that have children with heart problems. Back Story....Helping Hannahs Heart

In case anyone is wanting to know the back story on Vintage Torque Fest.....it was about 5 years ago we learned that our baby girl was not doing so well.....

The ultrasound tech spotted some issues with the heart and we were sent to Boston to have some emergency procedures done on our baby while still in utero.

After she was born she had to have open heart surgery. She is 4 now and will require more open heart surgery in the next couple of years.

A few of the regional car clubs (Los Punk Rods from Kansas City paid for the location and insurance last year and The Cheaters from Milwaukee ran security and helped promote the show big time and Oliver Group out of Des Moines did a ton of legwork) got together to support a fundraiser car show - Vintage Torque Fest.

We know this can be a gift to the community and we have started a foundation called the Helping Hannahs Heart Foundation. This is a non profit corporation and we will be working with our local pediatric cardiologist here in Iowa to help familes that are in need.

This is a VERY condensed version of the story.
